Not many people get the opportunity to live their dream, but establishing Sunflower Flats twelve years ago allows me that chance every day to create using gorgeous flowers bringing comfort, inspiration, celebration and surprise to our customers. I love what I do and aspire to engage that passion through my work, knowing that my customers trust me with their very personal floral needs.
Small businesses don’t just happen in this day and age–especially one in a really small town on the Oregon Coast. Sunflower Flats is a family operation. Mike, junior high sweetheart and husband of 38 years, is the head cheerleader, garden keeper, greens cutter, box man, cook and grocery shopper. He keeps the home fires burning so that I get to do what I love to do, while also having a full time day job as a high school teacher. My daughter, Natalie Rieger, is my right hand woman taking care of the business side of the operation from making it all add up financially, technology, personnel, marketing and buying. Without her, Sunflower Flats wouldn’t exist because basically I do the fun part designing flowers and merchandising and she makes the rest work in addition to her responsibilities of her own family’s business and being mother to three of my grandchildren.
Our co-workers are from diverse backgrounds of flower design and retail experience, but all of us believe customer service is our number one priority. That’s what our business has been built on and will keep it thriving. We also have many seasonal helpers that are generous to help us out during our busy times. It takes a village!
We are a full-service all occasion florist specializing in unique wedding designs and distinctive funeral work offering county-wide delivery as well as worldwide wire services through FTD and Teleflora.
In addition to our flowers, prepare to engage your senses with a visit to our shop to peruse our home decor, garden and gift selection. Local artists, artisans and crafters are featured in oils, ceramics, felted purses, encaustic, watercolor and so much more. You will find an original selection of cards, candles, inspirational books and journals as well as handmade soaps, scarves and Moonstruck Chocolates, many of which are made in Oregon.
Please stop by and see us on the corner of 3rd and Main in downtown Tillamook, call us at 503-842-4411 or browse our floral selections on-line. We’re looking forward to exceeding your floral expectations!
